Letter: Yes on Windsor Courthouse Bond
To the Editor:
One of several bond issues to be considered by the voters of Windsor County on Town Meeting day would provide funding for much-needed renovations to the county courthouse. The building has not seen a major renovation for 114 years and lacks handicap access. Planned improvements to the building would add an elevator to the back of the structure so that the courthouse would be in compliance with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act.
The good news is that this bond will only cost the average homeowner between $4 and $6 a year over 10 years. In return, the people of Windsor County will have a courthouse that can continue to serve the community well for another 100 years.
Please vote yes on the courthouse bond ballot.
