Letter: Above and Beyond Call of Duty
To the Editor:
On Saturday, Feb. 2, maybe in honor of groundhog day, I decided to throw my wallet away with the recycling at the Lebanon landfill. It was by far one of the silliest things I have ever done. I cannot thank Buzz Jenkins, the guy we all see at the recycling bins, enough for the amazing job he did finding my wallet. Besides strewing mounds and mounds of paper and cardboard all over the floor of the garage with his loader, he kept me sane. He kept reassuring me we would find it despite what felt like the proverbial search for the needle in the haystack. He worked so hard and was so very kind. I am incredibly grateful that we have such dedicated and wonderful people working for our city. Please shower Buzz with kind words when you see him in anticipation of the time you may decide to honor groundhog day as I did!
