Letter: Speaking of Gun Laws
To the Editor:
In the ongoing discussion about guns, I would like to remind Vermonters that all three of our representatives to Washington voted in favor of a bill, pushed by the gun lobby, that has made it legal to carry a loaded weapon in national parks. I would like to hear any of them, Rep. Peter Welch, or Sens. Patrick Leahy and Bernie Sanders defend their positions on this particular easing of gun restrictions. I’ve visited many national parks and never felt threatened by the wildlife. Now a visit to a park will be like a walk in the Vermont woods during hunting season.
