Letter: Master at Capturing Wildlife

To the Editor:

Willem Lange’s column, “Mastering the Art of Filming Wildlife,” in the Jan. 9 Valley News was right on: Lyme’s Alfred Balch is a master at capturing wildlife with his cameras. His self-produced DVD, Lyme Wildlife, is one of the best you’ll see, and it’s all shot near his home in Lyme Center. He shoots it all live, with no set-up or remote cameras.

You can get copies of Lyme Wildlife (33 minutes) at the Lyme Country Store and the Long River Studios in downtown Lyme. You can also arrange to get it by emailing Balch at campbigrock@yahoo.com.

Shop local, and get some extras of this classic — the DVD makes a great present.
