Letter: Reflections on the Way We Worked
To the Editor:
“The Way We Worked,” a Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibit on display until Jan. 27 at Lebanon’s AVA Gallery (www.avagallery.org), is well worth visiting. It explores 150 years of the American work experience in all its variety. There are stories of strength, dedication, bravery and diversity. I found the exhibit informative, lively and thought-provoking in the way it demonstrates how our working lives shape us and reflect our history.
AVA Gallery is located in the beautifully renovated Carter Overall Factory and is a perfect place to reflect on our work history. Jack Rowell’s wonderful photographs of Lebanon residents who worked in the factory or who were associated with it before it closed in 1985 are also part of the exhibit. Artifacts from the Lebanon Historical Society tie in perfectly with the exhibit and vividly bring the city’s history to life. A series of special events and programs will also take place at AVA throughout January.
Don’t miss this special exhibit!
