Letter: Support for Red Logan Dental Clinic
To the Editor:
The Red Logan Dental Clinic and its parent organization, the Good Neighbor Health Clinic Inc., are pleased to accept a grant of $5,000 from the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation Inc.
Through the past several years, the foundation has been an enthusiastic and strong supporter of our mission to provide free dental care to the qualified uninsured population.
This grant benefits Upper Valley residents through two ongoing programs offered by the free dental clinic: (1) Dental services in coordination with the externship programs of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Boston University; and (2) Expansion of a prevent ive care program that offers periodical educational workshops to the clinic’s patients.
Volunteer dentists, students in the externship programs and dental hygienists provide services at no cost to qualified, uninsured Upper Valley residents of Vermont and New Hampshire. The Red Logan Dental Clinic has developed oral health education workshops designed to improve overall dental health and reduce the number of dental emergencies.
The Northeast Delta Dental Foundation’s mission is “to improve the access and quality of dental health and education for the public and the dental communities of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.” The board of the Good Neighbor Health Clinic is most grateful for the support.
