Letter: Justice Was Served

To the Editor:

I read the Associated Press article in the Valley News on Jan. 17 about the botched execution of a convicted killer (“Execution Goes Awry in Ohio,” front page). I am not a believer in capital punishment, but reading the circumstances about Dennis McGuire and his crime tended to make me a pro-capital punisher for a day. He admitted to raping and murdering a pregnant woman in 1989. I think he got off pretty easy considering what he did. I’m sure many would disagree with me, but in many cultures there is “an eye for an eye” mentality. Possibly justice was served on the day he died.
