Edward Wallace Pierson
Orford, N.H. — Edward Wallace Pierson, 67, of Streeter Drive, died at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013.
Edward was born in Hanover, N.H., on Sept. 9, 1946, to Wallace and Evelyn (Weeks) Pierson. He was a graduate of Orford High School, Class of 1964. On Aug. 20, 1965, he married Shirley Jones.
Edward worked all over the Upper Valley as a finish carpenter for George Porter, Wayne Pike, Estes & Gallup, and for himself. He was also a member of the Vermont National Guard, based out of the Bradford Armory for six years.
Edward was a member of the Elks Club in Hartford, Vt.. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, camping and snowmobiling along with his friendship with the late Larry Benoit. He helped his brother-in-law, Bruce Streeter, care for his draft horses, Bert, Bob, Mike, and George. He also had a soft spot for his cat, Maddy.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Lori A. Stearns on Sept. 4, 2005; a sister, Carol A. Ball on Dec. 19, 2009; and a brother-in-law, Allan M. Ball on Sept. 14, 1986.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley Pierson of Orford; a daughter, Amy Pierson and husband David Huntington of Orford; a granddaughter, Montanna Germana; a sister, Sheila Mallett and husband Dale of Bartlett, N.H.; a brother, Richard Pierson and wife Jeannie of Fairlee, Vt.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be no calling hours.
A graveside service will be on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at 1 p.m., at the Orford Street Cemetery, Orford.
Memorial contributions may be made to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Volunteer Services, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756, to benefit the Infusion Garden which is dedicated in the memory of his daughter, Lori.
