James “Ducky” Bedi

Bethel, Vt. — James “Ducky” Bedi, 68, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in White River Jct., Vt., surrounded by his family. He was born June 7, 1945 in Springfield, Vt., the son of Gabriel and Olga (Neronsky) Bedi. He attended Springfield schools and graduated from Springfield High School class of 1963.

He served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1966 during the Vietnam Era.

On Dec. 18, 1976, He married Bonnie L. Fuller at the First Congregational Church in Springfield.

Mr. Bedi was a Master Electrician, working at the Jones and Lamson Machine Tool Company, the Springfield High School and Smith Inc. in Londonderry, Vt., as a Master Electrician. He Owned and Operated Bedi Construction, and from 2000 until his retirement in 2012 due to his health, he owned and operated Just Ducky Electric. Over the years Mr. Bedi was also an Insurance Agent for Met-Life.

He resided in Springfield for 50 years; Jamaica, Vt., for 13 years; and for the past 5 years made his home in Bethel, Vt.

He enjoyed his work, fishing, hiking, snow shoeing, hunting and metal detecting.

He was a member of the St. Johns Masonic Lodge # 41 F.& A. M. in Springfield and the White River Lodge #90 in Royalton, Vt.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie of Bethel; two sons – Jason Bedi of Albany, Ga., and Michael Narushof of Burlington, Vt.; one daughter, Katherine Bedi of Hartford, Vt.; two grandchildren; one sister Barbara Weaver of Charlestown, N.H.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father in 1980, his mother in 2013, and two brothers Walter Bedi and Mitchell Bedi.

A celebration of Life gathering will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Nov. 2, 2013, at the Robert L. Johnson V.F.W. Post 771 in Springfield, Vt.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society Vt. Affiliate 55 Day Lane Williston, VT 05495, or to the Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society P.O. Box 702 Brownsville, VT 05037.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, Vt.
