Kenneth R. Bostrom
Bethel, Vt. — Kenneth R. Bostrom, 84, of Bethel, died Monday evening, Oct. 21, 2013, at his home.
He was born July 24, 1929, in Boston, Mass.; the son of Henry and Ida (Noyd) Bostrom. He was raised in Wakefield, Mass. and attended Boston University. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was married to Charlene Emerson in Wakefield on Sept. 30, 1956. He had lived in Huntington, Long Island, N.Y. for 10 years until moving to Bethel in 1966. Kenneth worked for Pan American Airlines for 35 years as a Professional Flight Engineer. An avid reader, he enjoyed woodworking and spending summers at their cabin on Groton Lake.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Bostrom of Bethel; son, James Bostrom and his wife, Lois Iten Bostrom of Rockville, Md.; daughter, Karen Bostrom of Revere, Mass.; grandchildren, Allison and Graham Bostrom.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family, with burial at Groton Cemetery.
