Lois P. Seymour
West Lebanon, N.H. — Lois P. Seymour, 87, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at Lebanon Center Genesis Eldercare in Lebanon, N.H.
She was born Feb. 21, 1926, a daughter of Hugh A. and Edith M. (Bixby) Plummer and has lived in West Lebanon all of her life. Lois graduated from West Lebanon High School Class of 1945 before attending the University of New Hampshire. She worked as an operator at New England Telephone in White River Jct. for several years. She later worked as a communication technician at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover and continued at the hospital as they moved to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Campus in Lebanon, retiring in 1993.
Lois was married to Lloyd Seymour in Bethel, Vt. on Dec. 19, 1959. They made their home in West Lebanon where they raised their family together. Mr. Seymour died in 2003 and Lois has spent much of her time since residing at Quail Hollow, also in West Lebanon. Her family is especially grateful to the staff at Lebanon Center Genesis for the care she received in her final months.
Lois enjoyed being at home taking care of her family, cooking, baking, gardening, feeding the birds, being with her cats and most of all time with her grandchildren.
Lois is predeceased by her husband Lloyd, her sister Eleanor Ellingwood and two brothers Claude and Gordon Plummer.
She is survived by her two sons, George Seymour and his wife, Susan of Waterbury, Vt. and Nathan Seymour of West Lebanon; daughter, Dorothy Seymour of Cambridge, Mass. and her companion, Michael Belanger. Lois held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, Gilman Lloyd and Lillian Colby and their mother, Justine Colby Seymour.
Visiting hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the West Lebanon Congregational Church on Thursday, Oct. 10 at a time to be determined later. A private committal service will be held later in the West Lebanon Cemetery.
