Francis G. Mikowski
Lebanon, N.H. — Francis G. Mikowski, 84, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
He was born in Lebanon on Feb. 7, 1929, a son of the late Larry and Eva (Larrivee) Mikowski. He grew up in Lebanon and attended schools there before serving in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge, he later worked in the Baltic Woolen Mill in Enfield, N.H. State Forestry Department, Townsends Farm and Timken Areospace, formerly Split Ball Bearing, where he retired from. Francis also helped build and worked at the Dartmouth Skiway. On March 13, 1954, he was married to Jennie Britch in Enfield.
Francis’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, maple sugaring, gardening, camping, honey bees and his love for the outdoors and teaching others about it. Most importantly, he loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jennie; four daughters and their spouses, Ellen and Tom Truman of Lebanon, Lynn and Mike Neily of Canaan, N.H., Lori and Bob Dupuis of Cornish, N.H. and Cheryl and Kevin Jette of Lebanon; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren with #22 due in October; a sister, Tillie Gauthier of Wilder, Vt.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Emil Cote; his parents; a sister, Valeda Pringle; and grandsons, Matthew Neily and Greg Jette.
