Roland E. (Oscar) Clark
Post Mills, Vt. — Roland E. Clark, 83, of Post Mills died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Fletcher Allen Health Care of Burlington, Vt. He was born in Orange Vt., on Sept. 23, 1929, the son of Claude Clark and Nellie Clark.
He lived most of his life in Post Mills with his wife, Mary Southworth Clark, who predeceased him on Feb. 27, 2013
He was very good at any job he did. He worked at the Copper Mines in Strafford, Vt., where he logged and did carpenter work for Trumbull Nelson of Hanover, N.H., and James Banker Builders, Thetford Ctr., Vt. He retired from Robert Sweet Builders of West Fairlee, Vt. He was a very good carpenter and well-respected for his workmanship. He was an avid hunter and loved to take his grandchildren hunting especially for deer and turkeys. He was a member of the Thetford Fire Dept. for many years.
He is survived by two brothers, Aldo Clark, and Duane Clark; two sisters, Muriel Wagner and Madeline Ricker. He was predeceased by his brother, Edwin Clark and two sisters, Dorothy Bede and Arlene Goodrich. He is survived by his children, Janet Austin and her husband, Buzz, James Clark, Victoria Sweet and her husband, Robert; six grandsons, Cory and Matthew Austin, Chris and Ryan Clark, David and Tim Sweet. 10 great grandchildren and several nieces’ nephews
A celebration of his life and his wife, Mary Clark who died on Feb. 27, 2013 will be held Sunday, June 23, 2013, at 3 p.m. at the Post Mills Congregational Church, burial to follow in the Post Mills Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Roger Daum. There will be refreshments served at the church. In Lieu of flowers please donate to Thetford Fast Squad.
