Judith Leah Thornton Dalton

Newport, N.H. — Judith Leah Thornton Dalton, 62, of Beech Street died at her home, Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013.

Judy was born in Claremont, N.H. on March 24, 1950, daughter of the late Clarence Clement and Cora Amy [Roberts] Thornton. She grew up in Newport and graduated from Towle High School in the Class of 1968. Judy bartended at the Forester’s Club, enjoyed slot/computer games, “facebooking” and crafts.

She is survived by three sons, Jimmy Dalton and his wife, Beth, of Lebanon, N.H., Alex Lantas, of Vt., Jeremy Gwen of Fla.; one brother, Jerry Clayton Parrotto and his companion, Terry Jones of Newport; two sisters, Barbara Cutting of Lebanon, Ester Thornton-Carey and her husband, Jeff, of Enfield; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews including a very special grand niece Evelina Parrotto. Judy was pre-deceased by her sister, Junetta Simmers and brother, Clarence “Punk” Thornton.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Newport, with the Rev. Donna Leslie officiating.

There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations may be made to the Humane Society or a charity of one’s choice.
