James R. Dunham
Fitzwilliam, N.H. — James R. Dunham, 67, of 384 Route 119 West, died peacefully at his residence Monday evening, Aug. 18, 2014, with his family at his side.
He was born in Fitzwilliam on Oct. 3, 1946, son of the late Victor and Gladys (Baldwin) Dunham and was a 1965 graduate of Monadnock Regional High School.
Jim owned and operated JRD Trucking Co. of Fitzwilliam for 17 years. He was a former Road Agent for the Town of Fitzwilliam and was also a former constable and member of the Fire Department for the Town of Fitzwilliam. During the Vietnam War, Jim proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, for whom he did two tours of duty. Jim was a former member of Fitzwilliam VFW. He enjoyed spending time with his family as well as hunting and deep sea fishing.
His wife, Sandra (Wyman) Dunham, died in 1993. He leaves two sons, Donald E. Dunham and his wife, Christine of Brownfield, Maine and Ernest W. Dunham of Newbury, Vt.; four sisters, Barbara Bishop of Kissime, Fla., Mary Huntoon of Fitzwilliam, Carol Beliveau of Sullivan, N.H. and Phyllis Peterson of Fitzwilliam; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A brother, Wayne Dunham, died last year.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 23 at 10 a.m. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon, Mass. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fitzwilliam.
Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday, Aug. 22 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
