Robert H. Densmore

Cornish, N.H. — Robert H. Densmore, 102 formerly of Route 120 in Cornish, died Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. following a brief illness. He was born in Claremont, N.H. on June 22, 1912 the son of Arthur J. and Lilla (Brymer) Densmore and had been a lifetime area resident.

Robert had been employed as a papermaker by Claremont Paper Mill for 37 years until his retirement in 1974. He attended the First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Claremont Beagle Club, the Blue Tick Breeders and Hunters Association and the Plott Hound Association. Robert was the widower of Ida (Sears) Densmore who predeceased him in 1990.

Members of his family include a daughter, Eleanor Friend, Claremont; four grandchildren, Michael Friend and his wife, Diane, Coleen Wood and her husband, Douglas, Valerie King and her husband, Marcus, Robert Friend and his wife, Shawna; 10 great grandchildren, Dustin, Christopher, Nicholas, Iman, Marcus, Angie, Andrew, Allison, Sarah, Stella; a brother, Alton Densmore, Farmington Hills, Mich.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Hazel Morey; and two brothers, Harold Densmore and Arthur Densmore.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan Street, Claremont, on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, with the Rev. Scott Kearns, officiating. Committal will follow in Mt. View Cemetery.
