Harold C. Fox

Cornish, N.H. — Harold C. Fox, 92, of East Road in Cornish died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Woodlawn Care Center in Newport, N.H. following a period of failing health. He was born in Charleston, Vt. on Aug. 17, 1921, the son of Floyd and Erlene (Johnson) Fox and had been a longtime Cornish resident.

Harold had been employed as a carpenter by White Carpentry in Windsor, Vt. for many years. Harold respected the earth and what it produced. He was also a farmer and raised beef cattle and at one time had as many as 25 head. He loved to create things. He always left things better than he found them.

He was the widower of Zelma (Haddox) Fox who predeceased him on April 20, 2006. Members of his family include three daughters, Doris Fontaine and her husband, Russell, Claremont, N.H.; Judy Parkinson and her partner, Gillian Martlew, New London, N.H.; Donna Ruel and her husband, Robert, New London; a step-daughter, Jean Hurlburt, Cornish; a step-son, Ronald Tibert and his wife, Mary Lou, Rockport, Maine; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Arnold Fox and Reginald Fox.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday at the Roy Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Edminster Cemetery in Cornish. Friends may call at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan Street, Claremont on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
