Marilyn D. Burbee
Claremont, N.H. — Marilyn D. Burbee, 90 passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Sharon, Vt., on Aug. 20, 1923, the daughter of Harold and Nellie (Sleeper) Day. Marilyn attended school in Sharon, and graduated from high school in South Royalton, Vt. Marilyn was a member of the Congregational Church for more than 50 years and a past member of the King’s Daughters. Marilyn had resided in Claremont, N.H., for more than 60 years.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Raymond J. Burbee, Claremont; a son, Jon C. Trottier and his wife Caryn, Rochester, N.Y.; a stepson, Jason S. Burbee, Claremont; a sister, Katherine Lavigne, Essex Junction, Vt.; sisters-in-law, Rosalie Day, White River Jct., Vt., Madeline (Burbee) Narkewicz, Clearwater, Fla.; a special friend, Rita Doyle, Sharon; a special cousin, Ona Forty, Barton, Vt.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Querbach; two brothers, Maurice Day and Gordon Day, a half brother, Calvin Day and a step-daughter Galaxie Anne Burbee.
Friends may call at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan Street, Claremont, N.H. on Thursday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Following visitation the funeral procession will leave for Pine Hill Cemetery in Sharon, where graveside services will be held at 3 pm with Pastor Duane Brown, pastor of the Sharon Congregational Church, officiating. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Connecticut Valley Homecare/Hospice, 958 John Stark Highway, Newport, NH 03773.
