Iva N. Provencal

Casa Grande, Ariz. — Iva N. Provencal, 79, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Casa Grande hospital in Arizona. She was born Oct. 29, 1934, in Grantham, N.H. She worked at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., for 29 years as supervisor of residential life. She retired in 1998, then moved to Arizona.

She is survived by her companion of 18 years, Pete Cote; her beloved children, William Provencal of Arizona and his two sons, Scott and Sean; her daughter, Dolores Lizotte and husband, Paul of Canaan, N.H., and their children, Christopher and Chelsey; her daughter, Cynthia Tibbetts and husband of Canaan, and their children, Amanda and Matthew; and one sister, Becky Flynn of Cornish, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Ernest Pillsbury; her mother, Florence Pillsbury of Grantham; her brothers, Harland and Wayne Pillsbury; and her sister, Elsie Roberts of Newport, N.H.

She enjoyed her family and grandchildren, friends, working, camping, reading and watching One Life to Live. She was also fond of her dear friend, Brenda Aikens of Canaan and her dearly beloved cat, Missy.

Heritage Funeral Home in Casa Grande is taking care of arrangements. No services will be held.

Visitation will be at a later date at Hilldale Cemetery in Grantham.

Iva will always be remembered for telling you like it was, and for her brave and courageous 40-year battle with cancer.
