Charles Wayne Fulwider
Lake Placid, Fla. — Charles Wayne Fulwider, age 91, of Tomoka Heights, Lake Placid, and a former resident of West Lebanon, N.H., passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at his home in Lake Placid. His wife of 50 years, Olene McRae Fulwider, predeceased him in 1999. He was born in Indianapolis, Ind. on July 20, 1922, son of the late Charles & Edna Fulwider.
He was a civil engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Waltham, Mass. and transferred to Hanover, N.H. at Cold Regions Research & Engineering Lab (CRREL), where he retired from in 1974.
A World War II veteran, he was a Link Trainer instructor for the U.S. Army. After the war, he attended Purdue University in Indiana, where he graduated with honors with a degree in Civil Engineering. He enjoyed bowling and golf throughout his life.
He is survived by his son, Charles R. Fulwider of Lake Placid; daughters, Beverly Predki of Port Orange, Fla., and Barbara Andrews of Deale, Md.; as well as three granddaughters, Amy Corrette King, Ashley Corrette Hart, and Jody Andrews Pitt; as well as three great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
