Clara (Tancreti) Laware
Wilbraham, Mass. — Clara (Tancreti) Laware, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014. Born in Hartland, Vt. to the late James and Maria (Cascio) Tancreti, she received her teaching degree at Castleton Normal School in Vermont.
She taught grammar school in the Hartford, Vt. School District before moving to Wilbraham in 1957. She was a communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church and worked as a dispatcher for the Wilbraham Fire Department.
Clara was predeceased by her husband Erving Laware in 1996. She will be sadly missed by her four children: Erving J. Laware and his wife, Barbara of Monson, Thomas G. Laware and his wife, Maria of Wilbraham, Donald F. Laware and his wife, Paula of Wilbraham and Mary Pias and her husband, Stephen of Gales Ferry, Conn.; five grandchildren: Thomas, Jr., Jason, Gregory, Eric and Zackary; and 37 nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her nine siblings: Marcus, Alfred, Arnold, Roger, Orlando (Dean), William, Angelina, Edith and Eva.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Clara’s Funeral will be Wednesday from the Funeral Home at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Cecilia’s Church. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
