Lebanon, N.H. — Joseph Mazurek, 85, died at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014. He was born in Trenton, N.J. on March 4, 1928, to the late Anthony & Mary (Chesla) Mazurek. Joe enlisted in the Navy and retired after 20 years of service. He married Beverly L. Swett on Dec. 15, 1951. He has worked for the Police Department in Saugus, Mass. and after moving to the Upper Valley he began working for the Lebanon School System.
He is survived by his two sons, Steven C. Mazurek of Lebanon and Richard A. Mazurek and his wife, Pam both from Lebanon. Joe is also survived by his two beloved grandchildren, Christopher S. of White River Jct., Vt. and Aubrie R. of Lebanon. He was predeceased by his wife and several brothers and sisters. He will always be remembered as a good kind man with a gentle soul.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial calling hour beginning at 4 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at the Ricker Funeral home in Lebanon. Joe will be buried in the Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham, Massachusetts beside his wife at a later date.
