Adrien “Smitty” Smith
Lebanon, NH — Adrien “Smitty” Smith, 93, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 at Hanover Terrace. He was born on February 7, 1920 in Manchester, N.H. to the late Wilbrem & Lyda (Girard) Smith. Smitty grew up in Manchester and graduated from St. Augustine Parish School in Manchester. He came to Hanover in 1938 and was married to Marguerite Rigney. Smitty worked for various businesses, Hanover Inn, Dartmouth Dining and Hanover Ski’s. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and had enjoyed the 17 years that he had volunteered at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
Smitty is survived by his daughter Judy Dow of Kingman, Ariz., a granddaughter Jackie Rielly of Kingman, Ariz., a niece Sue Morin of Haverhill, Mass., a daughter-in-law Barbara Smith of Hanover, N.H., good friend Matt Nichols of Canaan, N.H. He was predeceased by a stepson Robert Smith, a sister Irene Lesser and a nephew Skip Lesser.
Family and friends are invited to a mass of Christian burial on Friday, Jan. 3, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Church in Lebanon at 11am; burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lebanon.
