Unity -- James Lawrence Jarvis, 78, of East Unity, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, after a valiant battle with lung cancer.

Hanover -- Roberta “Bobby” Stambaugh, 85, formerly of Quechee, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2007, at Kendal at Hanover, where she lived for the past 10 years.

Hanover -- Amalia W. “Pat” Greenwood, 98, of Lyme, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at Wheelock Terrace in Hanover, where she had lived since 2004.

Claremont -- Dr. William B. Ferriter, of Harmony Lane, formerly of Foisy Hill Road and a longtime resident of Myrtle Street, died Wednesday evening, Aug. 15, 2007, at Haven Health Care of Claremont. He was 94.

Lisbon, N.H. -- Elaine Cora (Valia) Gilman, 65, a native of Grafton, died at her home on Aug. 14, 2007.

Hanover -- Betty Ann Harris, 79, died at Wheelock Terrace in Hanover on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, following a lengthy illness.

Unity -- Mildred L. Hayes, 79, died on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at Sullivan County Nursing Home.

Pittsburg, N.H. -- Wesley G. Laurie, 68, a native of Meriden, died on Aug. 14, 2007, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

Windsor -- Leslie E. Riordan-Hazlett, 39, a former resident of Windsor who had been living in her native Olean, N.Y., died in Limestone, Pa., on Friday, Aug. 17, 2007.

Franklin, N.H. -- John D. Belloir, 64, a native of Grafton, died at his home on Rose Lane on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007
Angus K. Chapman
Canaan -- A funeral service will be held for Angus K. “Sunny” Chapman on Saturday at Canaan Assembly of God Church. Mr. Chapman, a native of Canaan, died in North Carolina on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at the age of 78.
The service will start at 1 p.m. and burial will follow in Canaan Street Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Ricker Funeral Home in Enfield.
Bernice A. Fontaine
Dayville, Conn. -- Bernice A. (Howe) Fontaine, 103, a native of Cornish and a former resident of Sunapee, died at Westview Nursing Home in Connecticut on Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, surrounded by her grandchildren.
She was born in Cornish on Jan. 19, 1904, a daughter of Henry Brooks Howe and Clara M. (Dorwin) Howe. She was married to Ernest Eugene Fontaine on May 7, 1923, in Claremont, where they lived for many years. They built a home on Job's Creek at Lake Sunapee and relocated there in the early 1950s.
Mrs. Fontaine is survived by two nephews and eight grandchildren .
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at Ascutney Cemetery in Ascutney.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Center for Healthy Aging, 15 Marshall St., Putnam, Conn. 06260. Arrangements are by Roy Funeral Home in Claremont.
