Kenneth E. Lasure
Windsor, Vt. — Kenneth E. Lasure, 76, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 24, 2013, at his home in Windsor following a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 8, 1937, in Hartland, Vt. the son of Lee D. and Florence (Rockwood) Lasure. He received his schooling in Hartland and Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1955. He married Judith Blanchard in Hartland on Aug. 19, 1970. Mr. Lasure was employed in the stockroom at the former Cone Blanchard Machine Tool Company in Windsor for 35 years until his retirement in 1991. He and his wife had managed a rooming house and several apartment buildings in Windsor for several years.
Ken enjoyed camping, boating, hunting, snowmobiling and traveling. He also enjoyed working on the family farm in Newbury, Vt. He enjoyed spending time at the family camp in Averill, Vt. and was especially fond of spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents and by two brothers, Lee Lasure and Mansfield “Tuppy” Lasure.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Lasure of Windsor; two sons, Gerard Lasure of New Castle, Pa. and William Lasure of Newbury, Vt.; two daughters, Terri Vincent of Concord, N.H. and Gloria Nott of White River Jct., Vt.; one sister, Irene Campbell of Hartland, Vt.; one brother, Leonard Lasure of Windsor; and several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 29 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. The funeral service will begin at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Ken White, Pastor of the Rachel S. Harlow United Methodist Church, officiating. Committal services will be held at the convenience of his family at a later date.
