Windsor — A team of Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center employees recently took part in the Relay for Life of Claremont at River Valley Community College. The relays, community fundraising walks benefiting the American Cancer Society, have raised over four billion dollars since they began in 1985. With 30 teams participating, this year’s Claremont relay has raised about $84,000 so far.

Tanya Hinkley, a licensed nursing assistant at Mt. Ascutney, led a team of eight women, including three coworkers: Amy Dole, Tracy Frechette, and Emily Miller.

By holding various raffles, the team has raised $3,657 for the American Cancer Society. They plan to keep fundraising, with the hope of reaching their goal of $5,000 by Aug. 31. — Staff report
