Daniel David Lockwood

Windsor, Vt. — Daniel David Lockwood “Woody”, 62, of Windsor, died at his home on Wednesday, morning, May 8, 2013. He was born in Lebanon, N.H. on April 17, 1951, son of the late Raymond Lockwood and Beverly (McClellan) Arnold.

Daniel attended Windsor High School and had served in the United States Marine Corps. He had worked for Cone Blanchard, Thermal Dynamics and Seldon as a machinist.

He held a Black Belt 4th degree. At the age of 13 Daniel had taught himself how to play the guitar. Daniel was a member of several bands in the area including Kings Highway, Ambush and U Behave, he was also in a two piece band called Dan & Roy. He did a lot of volunteer work with his music including playing for nursing homes. In the summer he would play for the Recreation Center on the Windsor Common.

The family includes his wife, Katherine (Richardson) Lockwood of Windsor, whom he married on Sept. 1, 1972; two sons, Adam D. Lockwood of Bellows Falls, Vt. and Philip R. Lockwood and his wife, Heather; one granddaughter, Sapphire Lockwood; one grandson, Rowan Lockwood all of Windsor; step-mother, Lucille Lockwood of South Burlington, Vt.; three sisters, Sheryl “Sherry” Madeja of Claremont, Bonnie Hooey of Bradenton, Fla., June Hathorn of West Windsor, Vt.; many nieces, nephews & cousins.

He was predeceased by one sister, Cookie Lockwood and one brother, Raymond Lockwood, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, N.H., with Pastor Dave Jones of the Trinity Church, officiating. Visiting hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor, with military honors.
