Mildred L. “Mickey” Pfenning
Windsor, Vt. — Mildred L. “Mickey” Pfenning, 96, a longtime resident of Windsor passed away Monday morning, Dec. 31, 2012, at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
She was born July 13, 1916, in Cornwall, Vt. She received her schooling in Cornwall. She married Marshall N. Pfenning in Rutland, Vt. on Nov. 6, 1937. She and her husband were employed at the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor for thirty one years. They both retired in 1971.
Mrs. Pfenning was a member of the Rachel S. Harlow United Methodist Church in Windsor, a member and Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Windsor. She and her husband had prepared meals for the Windsor Rotary Club for several years. She also assisted with the Windsor Girl Scout Troup.
Mickey was fond of flower gardening, and enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, camping with family and friends and fishing.
Mr. Pfenning passed away on March 20, 1993.
Survivors include three sons, Wayne E. Pfenning and his wife, Marcia of Hartland, Vt., Frederick M. Pfenning of Martin, Tenn. and Paul W. Pfenning and his wife, Kathy, of Gilmanton, N.H.; one daughter, Judy Pfenning-Summarsell and her partner, Jeffrey Dillingham of Windsor; several grandchildren, great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
At her request there will be no services at this time and a graveside service will be held in the spring in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor.
