Boy Scouts of America Award Windsor Man for His Service
Windsor — Physician Fred Lord, of Windsor, recently received the Boy Scouts of America’s Silver Beaver Award.
The award recognizes Lord’s longstanding and outstanding service to Vermont’s youth, the Green Mountain Council of the Boy Scouts of America said in a recent news release.
It is the highest award a council can give to its Scouts, and candidates are nominated by fellow Vermonters who are volunteers with the Boy Scouts.
Since achieving Scouting’s highest rank of Eagle as a young person, Lord has been actively involved as a Scout leader, most recently with Windsor’s Rotary Club Scout Troop 218, where he is committee chairman, the council said. He is district chairman of the Green Mountain Council’s Calvin Coolidge District, which serves Windsor and Windham counties. — Staff report
