Benefit for West Fairlee Woman Features Music, Food, Auction

Vershire — A benefit for a West Fairlee woman fighting cancer is scheduled for Oct. 26, from 2-10 p.m., at Vershire Town Center on Route 113.

Lisa Ordway, a longtime employee of the B&B Cash Market in West Fairlee, has a form of cancer that affects the head and neck.

Ordway, 48, is a single mother of two adult children and an officer in the West Fairlee Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to working at the market, she also owns a sign and embroidery business, but due to her illness has been unable to work.

The fundraiser will include a barbecue by Mark Fifield, of Bare Bones BBQ, and silent auction from 3-5 p.m.

Ken Odell and the Blue Rooster Band will play from 6-10 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children under 5.

They are available at B&B Cash Market, Baker’s General Store in Post Mills, Thetford Village Store and Ward’s Garage in Vershire.
