Vershire, Vt. — Dorothea E. “Dotty” Rhodes, 86, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015. She died peacefully in the presence of her family at the Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct., Vt. Dotty was born Feb. 27, 1929, in Vershire, to George and Mabel (Shearer) Ricker. She married Wilmer (Dusty) Rhodes in 1947 and they settled in the Springfield, Vt. area, where they raised their four children. They were married for 63 years. Dotty enjoyed being with people and meeting new friends. She was an outdoor person and was especially drawn to working in the gardens and walking in the woods.
