Sunapee to Mull New Roof for School
Sunapee — Annual deliberative sessions for the town and the school district will be held next week beginning with the school at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3 in the middle-high school gymnasium.
The town session is 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, also at the middle-high school gymnasium.
There are seven articles on the school warrant, including an $11.13 million budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1 that represents an increase of $318,000 or nearly 3 percent from this year.
Two articles would raise $25,000 each for capital reserve funds and another would raise $98,000 to replace a section of the roof at the middle high-school.
The proposed town budget of $6.5 million is $472,000 more than the current budget. There are another 14 separate articles on the 35-article warrant that request a total of $1.4 million in appropriations. Most of the money would come from existing reserve funds while $433,000 represents new spending. The largest amount of new spending is $190,000 for the fire equipment capital reserve fund. Articles 2 through 15 propose zoning changes.
Voters can amend articles with appropriations at the deliberative session. The finalized warrants will be voted on during all-day balloting March 11.
