Pauline L. Ward
West Lebanon, N.H. — Pauline L. Ward, 70, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Hanover Terrace Healthcare.
Polly was born Sept. 11, 1942, in Hanover, N.H., a daughter of Thomas and Lucy (Bomhower) Ward. She grew up in West Lebanon where she lived most of her life. She graduated from West Lebanon High School in 1960. She loved to care for children and worked in Boston as a nanny for Gregory and Andrew. She later returned to the Upper Valley, received her certificate in nursing and worked in the pediatric ward at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, then at the Boston Children’s Hospital and finally at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in White River Jct.
In the last year of her life Pauline was fortunate to receive special care from her nieces Jayne Trottier Hall and Janice Gosselin Smith, her dear friend Molly Luft, cousins Rita Morse and Sandra Lord as well as the staff of Bayada Hospice and Hanover Terrace Healthcare.
Polly loved spending time in her garden, at the beach as well as time at the horse track. She loved to write and tell stories, bringing much joy and laughter to those that knew her.
Polly was predeceased her sisters, Caroline Trottier and Virginia Gosselin.
She is survived by her brothers, Everett Farnsworth and his wife, Betty of West Lebanon, and Tom Ward of Strafford, Vt; a brother-in- law, Robert Trottier of West Lebanon and several nieces, nephews and cou;sins.
Graveside memorial services will be 2 p.m. at the West Lebanon Cemetery Sunday, Feb. 17 2013. Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. has been entrusted with arrangements
