Theodore R. “Ted” Kendall, Jr.
White River Jct., Vt. — Theodore R. “Ted” Kendall, Jr., 76, died Monday, June 30, 2014, at Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct.
He was born Aug. 20, 1937, in Randolph the son of Theodore and Beda Mae (Bent) Kendall.
Ted was raised in Strafford. He attended Strafford schools and graduated from Randolph High School. Following his education he served in the U.S. Army.
After returning home from the service he owned and operated the Shell Gas Station in White River Jct. He later owned a small engine repair business and later served as a Grafton County (N.H.) Sheriff. He later built houses in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. In earlier years he enjoyed stock car racing, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by three daughters, Tracy Churchill of Wilder, Tina Clifton of Newbury, N.H. and Tammy Wilson of Thetford; a son, Tim Kendall of Wilder; five brothers, Harold Kendall of Bethel, Robert Kendall of Wilder, Jim Kendall of Granger, Ind., and Butch Kendall; two sisters, Kathy Kendall of Springfield and Patty Adams of Maine; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, a son “Ted” Kendall, III and a daughter Tony Kendall.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8 at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Randolph Center. Calling hours will be Monday evening, July 7 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Day Funeral Home, Randolph.
