Amy J. Parent
Topsham, Vt. — Amy J. Parent, 43 died on Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. after a short illness.
She was born April 9, 1971 in Springfield, Vt. the daughter of Robert Baker and Theresa “Terry” (Carpenter) Carty. She attended school in Springfield and graduated in 1989 from Springfield High School.
On July 28, 1996, she married David R. Parent of Springfield. They lived in Florida for 13 years before moving back to Vermont in 2003 where they made their home in Topsham. Amy worked at the Cobble Mountain Hammock Shop in East Corinth and most recently she was a private home healthcare provider.
She loved spending time with her family and her dogs. She enjoyed listening to Jimmy Buffet music, fishing, boating, hiking, watching birds or just being outdoors.
She is survived by her husband, David Parent; a son, Travis Parent and a daughter, Jessie Parent all of Topsham; her father, Robert Baker and his wife, Cheryl of Springfield; her mother, Terry Carty and her husband, Fred of Tunbridge, Vt.; her grandmother, Vera Carpenter of Windsor, Vt.; her mother-in-law, Alma Beals of Westminster, Vt.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister and best friend, Wendy LeDuc in 2012.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home, 300 VT RT 110, Chelsea, Vt. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
