Guy G. “Hutch” Hutchinson
Wauseon, Ohio — Guy G. “Hutch” Hutchinson, age 69, of Wauseon and formerly of Springfield, Vt., passed away late Tuesday, April 29, 2014, in his home following an extended illness. Prior to his retirement he had worked for the former Bryant Grinder Corp. in Springfield as a Service Technician. He had also been a volunteer firefighter for the Springfield Fire Department in Springfield for 25 years, attaining the rank of Lieutenant.
Guy was born on Feb. 27, 1945, in Springfield, the son of the late Harold and the late Margaret (Bell) Hutchinson. He was a very proud US Navy veteran having served from 1965-1969. In June of 2013 he was blessed to be able to attend his 50th high school class reunion in Springfield, and enjoy the company of many of his friends from the class of 1963. Guy started out as a high school co-op for Bryant Grinder Corp. He built, installed and repaired machines for Bryant all over the US and the world for more than 30 years. Guy spent his life in service to others, always willing and ready to help in any situation.
In 2003 he married the former Elizabeth “Liz” Klippel and she survives. Also surviving is Guy’s first wife, Barbara; son, Todd (John MacDonald) Hutchinson; daughter, Lory (John) Sidney; granddaughters, Taryn, Kammie (Dillon Heidtmann) and Bryne Sidney. Also surviving is great-grandson, Levi Heidtmann; and sisters, Sally (Stedman) Beebe, Patricia (Rodger) Smith; brother, Wayne (Sharon) Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Kathleen Hutchinson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding him in death besides his parents, was his brother, Harold “Junior” Hutchinson.
The family would like to thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their support of Guy during his journey home. There will be a small gathering held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Sunday, May 11, 2014, following the 9:30 a.m. mass. There will also be a public gathering held in Springfield, Vt., at a later date. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.GrisierFH.com. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the family’s choice.
