April Mae Dyer

Sharon, Vt. — April Mae Dyer, 35 died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 28, 2014, in Woodstock, Vt.

She was born Dec. 6, 1978 in Hanover, N.H. the daughter of Leslie and Peggy (Cameron) Dyer. She attended school at Sharon Elementary and Hartford High School where she graduated in 1996. For many years April ran a child daycare at her home. She loved children of all ages. This past year she was a pre-kindergarten teacher at the Sharon Elementary School.

April loved spending time with her son, Kalob and her soul mate of the last eighteen years, Clifford Wheeler. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, music, visiting with friends and family, and caring for her animals, just to name a few of her passions. Her loving and caring spirit can be seen today in the many children she cared for after birth to the fine young adults we are surrounded by today.

She is survived by her father, Leslie Dyer of South Royalton, Vt; her mother and step-father, Peggy and Joe Willis of Sharon; grandmother, Joyce Dyer of Sharon; five sisters, Anne Holloway of Orford, N.H., Karrie Longley of North Pomfret, Vt., Renee Arthur of Bristol, Conn., Penny Gomez of St. Cloud, Fla. and Sarah Willis of North Hartland, Vt.; two brothers, Joseph Willis Jr. of Ansonia, Conn. and William Willis of Corinth, Vt.; her God-children, Olivia and Jacob Adams; nieces and nephews, Kyle, Kaylee and Brooke Longley, Logan and Devanne Defelice; her best friend that was like her sister, Crystal Hilliker of West Hartford, Vt.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Her dogs Bella Rose and Duke meant the world to her.

There will be no public calling hours. A graveside memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at 3 p.m. at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Sharon.
