Bethel Man Charged After Route 14 Chase
Royalton — A Bethel man led police on a brief high-speed chase Friday afternoon after he allegedly failed to stop for a traffic violation on Route 14.
Edward S. Best, 25, was driving a 2005 Subaru WRX at about 3:30 Friday afternoon when Royalton police attempted to stop him.
Best continued driving at “a high rate of speed,” police said in a news release Saturday.
Best was arrested without incident following the short chase and was processed at the Royalton Police Department.
He faces charges of attempting to elude, excessive speed, and careless and negligent operation. He is scheduled to appear in Windsor Superior Court on Nov. 5.
