Randolph, Vt. — Brent Wallace, 40, passed away unexpectedly at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, N.Y. on Saturday, July 6, 2013. He was born in Hanover, N.H. to David & Wendy (Spafford) Wallace on Saturday, Aug. 17, 1972.
Brent grew up in Lebanon, N.H., beginning his education at the Mt. Lebanon School in West Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School, Class of 1990. He played basketball for Lang Metcalf and Jim Wechsler during his high school years and assisted coaching with the freshman teams. With their influence, Brent himself later coached Little League and basketball teams in Randolph where his son and daughter were actively participating. Brent loved sports, especially basketball and continued playing in weekly pick-up games whenever possible.
Before settling in Randolph he lived and worked in Northampton, Mass. for the Sportshoe Center and then in Manchester, N.H. for Ferguson Enterprises. He has been employed for the last 13 years at Applied Research Associates in Randolph as a Senior Buyer/Project Materials Manager. Brent was an avid skier, he loved to hike and kayak, especially with the children; he was a dedicated fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Celtics and LA Lakers; and kept faithful track of the University of North Carolina games; but he most enjoyed the time he spent with Zack & Avery, who were the loves of his life.
Brent was predeceased by both paternal and maternal grandparents, David & Carol Wallace of Walpole, N.H. and Eric & Gertrude Spafford, of Stratton, Vt. and Lebanon.
Brent is survived by his parents, David & Wendy Wallace of Lebanon; his son, Zackery David Wallace and daughter, Avery Norah Wallace; and his former wife, Shelby (Gile) Wallace, all of Randolph; his brother, Bryan Wallace, of Cornersville, Tenn.; niece and nephew, Ashley Howe and Eric Wallace, of Arizona; his uncle, Stephen Wallace, of Leominster, Mass.; cousins, Beth Talon and daughter, Megan Driscoll, of Brattleboro, Vt., Keith Raymond and Meredith Raymond, of Virginia, and Eric Carl Parsons, of N.H.; and, his godparents, Richard Lamothe, of Florida and Cynthia Lamothe of Virginia; the children’s godparents, Roland & Wanda Daniels, of White River Jct., Vt., who were a very large part of his life. He also leaves behind many very close friends, especially Todd Jarry, Sean Gray, Jeff Tilden, and Jeremy Freeland.
Family and friends are invited to memorial calling hours at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon on Saturday, July 13, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, with a graveside service to follow in the Glenwood Cemetery in Lebanon. A reception will be held at his parents home, 75 Poverty Lane, Lebanon following burial.
