Patricia L. Barton
Reading, Vt. — Patricia L. Barton, 56, died at her home on Saturday evening, Feb. 8, 2014, in Reading.
Pat was born on Sept. 16, 1957, in Hanover, N.H. the daughter of David and Edna (Townsend) Luce.
Pat graduated from Woodstock Union High School in 1975. She worked at Springfield Savings and Loan for 17 years as a secretary/treasurer, the Parks & Wilson Co. in Springfield, the Rockingham Country Club, and most recently as a manager for the Woodstock Cookie Company.
Pat was well known in the area for her wedding cakes and for catering many weddings and other special occasions. She loved to bowl, hunt, and knit. She touched many lives.
Pat is survived by her husband of 20 years, Edwin “Jigger” Barton of Reading; four children, Dan Schaefer of Pomfret, Vt., Lisa Gibbons and Tylar Barton both of Springfield, Vt., and Travis Barton of Perkinsville, Vt.; eight grandchildren; her parents, David and Edna of Pomfret; a sister, Louise Blakney of Barnard, Vt.; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, Vt. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at the Springfield Elks Club. Burial will be in Reading at a later date to be announced.
