Letter: Vigil to Mark Newtown Anniversary

To the Editor:

I salute the Valley News for its excellent front page article on the public forum on children and gun safety at Norwich’s Marion Cross School (“It Is Your Responsibility,” May 30). That gathering featured Norwich Police Chief Doug Robinson, who stressed the need for a safe-storage law in Vermont and other common-sense reforms.

If you agree, contact Gov. Peter Shumlin and other lawmakers in Montpelier. Also, consider coming to the June 14 event in Hanover marking the six-month anniversary of the Newtown, Conn. shootings. Sponsored by the League of Women Voters, this silent vigil is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. on the Dartmouth Green.
