Letter: Book Angels Are at Work Again

To the Editor:

Time to polish your halo! The book angels are at work again at the Norwich Bookstore, gathering books to give to children and young adults in the Upper Valley.

Paper angels with a child’s age and interests hang on the large wreath in our stairway. Each angel represents a child identified by one of several local not-for-profit service agencies. For every 10 books purchased, the Norwich Bookstore donates at least one more, and we guarantee that no angel will leave empty handed. We then gift wrap the books and send them on their way.

We extend sincere appreciation to our volunteer coordinators and thanks to our customers for their generous support of this wonderful tradition. The book angels got an early start this year, as several of the agencies with whom we work have requested delivery by Dec. 5.
