Newport A Claremont man pleaded not guilty to several charges of aggravated sexual assault against minors and the production of child pornography a t his arraignment Monday in Sullivan County Superior Court .

Kevin Blood, 25, of Hanover Street, was arraigned via video from the Sullivan County House of Corrections with his attorney, Jennifer Cohen of the public defender’s office in Keene, beside him. Cohen entered the not guilty pleas on the six charges of aggravated felonious sexual assault and two counts of making child pornography.

Bail for Blood was set at $500,000 cash as recommended by Sullivan County Attorney Marc Hathaway and imposed by Judge Bryan Tucker. If Blood is able to post bail, his release carries a slew of conditions including no contact with the alleged victims. Neither Cohen nor Blood objected to the bail or conditions of release.

Ashley Blood is being held without bail.

The alleged crimes took place on Nov. 13 and Nov. 20 at the couple’s home and involved two children under their care at the time.

The sexual assault charge carries a 10-to 20-year sentence with a $4,000 fine and each pornography charge has a potential sentence of 15 to 30 years and a $4,000 fine.
