John Kasich, who is seeking the Republican presidential nomination, pitched his blue-collar background and record as a chief executive to voters Wednesday night at the Kilton Public Library. Speaking to a packed room of more than 100 people, Kasich regaled the crowd with many anecdotes: tales of meeting Richard Nixon in the Oval Office at 18, of his father’s job as a mailman, of golfing with House Speaker John Boehner, President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden — a story he used to contrast his history as an aisle-crossing moderate with the anger and negativity of some other Republican candidates. …
