Colby-Sawyer Soccer Team Wins Awards
New London — First-year Colby-Sawyer coach Meghan Medbery was named North Atlantic Conference coach of the year. The Chargers also landed three on the All-NAC first team.
The Chargers, who are the NAC tournament’s top seed, will host second-seeded Castleton tomorrow at 2 p.m. for the NAC title.
Colby-Sawyer defeated the Spartans 2-1 earlier this season.
Medbery guided the Chargers to an 8-0-1 mark in conference play and the top seed in the conference tournament. Colby-Sawyer set a school record with 14 wins this season and has reached a title game for the first time since 1997.
Junior Adrienne Bender was named to the first team for the second straight season. She has a team best 12 goals and 27 points. Senior keeper Shay Spencer and Colleen Coburn were also named to the first team.
