Lionel J. “Butch” Dalton

North Sutton, N.H. — Butch Dalton, 49, of North Sutton lost his courageous battle with cancer at home on Thursday, May 29, 2014, with family by his side.

He was born Oct. 15, 1964, to Jann (Johnson) and Joel B. Dalton in Newport, Rhode Island.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 31 years, Jamie (Sanso) Dalton; his daughter, Kelsie Dalton; his son, Adam Dalton, and Adam’s girlfriend Brittany Atwood and their daughter Emma Dalton. He is also survived by his siblings, Stephanie Duquette and Bradford R. Dalton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was very active and supportive in his children’s lives; he was a Cub Scout den leader, football coach and hockey dad.

An accomplished, passionate hunter, Butch was always willing to share his skill and knowledge with everyone and took great pride in their successes.

Butch has held numerous positions in the construction trade, with the last 12 years as a project manager for Ennis Construction Inc. His love for his work was evident in the beauty of and the craftsmanship in the homes that he built, including his own.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, June 1 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Chadwick’s Funeral Home in New London, N.H., and will be followed by a memorial service at the First Baptist Church.

The burial will take place on Wednesday, June 4 at 1 p.m. at the Millwood Cemetery in South Sutton.

Donations in Butch’s name in lieu of flowers may be made to either the Wounded Warriors Project or Lake Sunapee Hospice.
