Letter: Newbury, Vt., Church Plans Fall Festival
To the Editor:
Fall will soon be here. Yes, it is time to plan the annual First Congregational Church Fall Festival in Newbury, Vt. We will have a full day of festivities planned for Sept. 28, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. This year we will continue to have music, a bake sale, cookie walk, fudge and candy tables, hay rides, the silent auction and more. Our event will be a day of family fun with new activities and balloons for the youngsters.
The silent auction has a new concept this year. We are asking members and friends of the church to donate handmade and crafted items, gift certificates for baked goods or items you have that are slightly used or look like new. The auction will close at 2 p.m., so we will have the items ready for pickup by 3 p.m. at the vestry. Proceeds from the festival go directly to the church fund for operating expenses and projects that need to be accomplished.
Please join us at the First Congregational Church on Sept. 28. We appreciate your support and generosity. Your donation will ensure the success of the 2013 Fall Festival.
