Richmond Middle School to Hold Technology Open House
Hanover — Richmond Middle School will be hosting a technology open house tonight that will include lessons on Twitter, Google Apps, blogging and iMovie.
The event will start at 6 p.m. with a keynote address by Dr. Miles Blencowe, a professor of physics and astronomy at Dartmouth College. The evening will include three technology sessions, and parents and community members can choose what lessons they’d like to attend.
Several sessions will focus on teaching attendees a particular skill, such as how to use Twitter and how to make a movie on an iPad. Other sessions will focus more on showing parents how their students use technology in the classroom. For instance, one session will explain how students create websites and spreadsheets and then share them online using Google Apps.
The open house will end at 8:15 p.m. with a feedback survey. There will be 19 lessons crammed into the two-hour session for parents to choose from. Local educators will teach the sessions.
