Violet “Vi” Rosamond (Pierce) Constant

Concord, N.H. — Violet “Vi” Rosamond (Pierce) Constant, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Pleasant View Center.

Violet was born April 16, 1926, in Hartford, Vt. the daughter of Wayne Lewis and Rosemond Violet (Clifford) Pierce. She attended public schools in White River Jct. Vt., moving to Concord in 1954, where she made her home permanently.

Violet had worked at the City of Concord, retiring as City Treasurer. Before coming to Concord, she had worked at Cooperative Farm Credit Agency both in White River Jct. and Concord.

A few of the places she had volunteered and belonged to: AARP/NH, State Legislative Committee-Advocacy for seniors, Business & Professional Women’s Foundation/N.H. She was a past member of the Odd Fellows, and Rebekahs.

She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, and very much enjoyed singing in the choir.

She was an advocate for breast cancer awareness education, for all women, as she was a survivor herself.

Some of the things Vi enjoyed were traveling the United States, going to Europe, painting, playing the piano, and going to plays.

She is predeceased by her husband, Albert (Beebe) Joseph Constant of 48 years; her sister, Annie (Pierce) Baldwin; her brothers, Clifford W. Pierce, and Merle W. Pierce; and her nephew Theodore “Ted” Byron Baldwin, Jr.

She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Alsie Baldwin Prime, and her husband, and caregiver also, Richard E. Prime, Lebanon N.H. She also is survived by her nephew’s son, Justin W. Baldwin, Keene N.H.

Visiting hours will not be held.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord. The Reverend Peter Hey will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Blossom Hill Cemetery.
