Lebanon’s Oldest Resident Marks 103 Years
Lebanon — Friends and family joined Jane Hammond, of Lebanon, at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital on Monday to celebrate her 103rd birthday.
Hammond is Lebanon’s oldest resident and holder of the city’s Boston Post Cane.
Lebanon Mayor Georgia Tuttle attended the celebration and presented Hammond with a proclamation in her honor.
Hammond is also one of the original residents of Harvest Hill, the independent and assisted-living retirement community on the APD campus. She arrived at Harvest Hill on Pearl Harbor Day 1995, just one month after it opened.
“She is an energetic and inspirational member of the community, and is a central figure at Harvest Hill events — from seminars to tai chi class,” the hospital said in a news release. “People across the APD campus have come to know her thanks to her daily walks around the campus and along its network of hiking trails.”
